Hello,

OK here is one for you. I have recently rebooted my server and noticed that the login time is slow to respond on Windows 2000 machines. And when I go to open programs on a windows 2000 machine off the NAL it is very slow. I can move through the drives with no problems. Just when the server logs in and when I try to access a program from the NAL Shell. Is there something I can run on the system to help fix this? I also lost somehow my main page for connecting to the web client. The Port 2200 where I can access all the features.

If anyone can help it would be great. Let me know what more you need for info. I have the following on the server:

Netware 6 SP3
Java 1.41a I believe
Zen for servers 3.2 sp3

I am just lost on this. Also with loosing the web interface that is the weirdest thing. The one thing that I did was purge the files I deleted. Should I reinstall the SP3 on the Netware server????

Dazed and Confused...[sadeyes]

Did you recently install edir 8.7.3? Just curious cause I just had a problem where the eDir install hosed up all my webstuff. Haven't resolved it yet.

No I wish I did do something like that but I did not. I am just curious if reinstalling something will fix it back to its normall state so I can access the main web interface on port 2200.

I hate reinstalling stuff unless I have specific info that leads me to believe that a reinstall will resolve it. I don't like to do it just because. Do you get anything when you go to port 80?

As far as the slowdowns, did you recently change something in your replica structure? is your time synchronized on ALL servers? and do you have any errors when doing a SET DSTRACE=ON, SET DSTRACE=+S, SET DSTRACE=*H.

A lot of times, slowdowns on login have to do with the ability to read information efficiently from NDS due to errors or treewalking, etc.

Well when I go to the regular site I get nothing. A long time ago I put up a different web page for the high school on it. The site still worked though and I was able to get to the 2200 port. I did however do a purge on all the drives to clean things up since it was middle of the school year to get rid of all those files students deleted.

Could that have caused a problem???

I also had a problem with the time sync server. I had set it as secondary with a switch that was not supposed to be done so I put it back to single. I did a few things now that I think of it, but nothing I would think that would cause a problem. Just clean up of the drives. That is all.
