I did try that, changing the caroot's password, didn't work.
This is the solution I got from CA..
Server (Server Name) Failed to authenticate the user CAROOT, EC=-1 when you try to access the Manager, after you renamed your backup server.
To over come this:
1. Close the BrightStor Manager.
2. Run the CSTOP C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\CSTOP.BAT to
stop the BrightStor Services.
3. Open the discovery.cfg file under C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve
Backup\config
4. You will see entries for the DOMAIN, PRIMARY and SECONDARY right at the
bottom of this file.
5. The entries for DOMAIN and PRIMARY should be the The Current Local Server
Name, they will be refering to the Old Server Name.
6. Edit the DOMAIN and PRIMATRY to reflect the Current Server Name and save
the discovery.cfg
7. Run CSTART C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup\CSTART.BAT to
start the BrightStor Services.
8. Now you will be able to access the BrightStor Manager.
