I've inherited a TSM nightmare (Ver. 5.2 on Windows 2003 Server). Here are two of the worst errors below. The disks aren't full when I check them in the mornings. I'm not sure if the data that's being backed up is filling the drives up until they're on the tapes. I'm a beginner , so any help would be appreciated.

error 1: 01/22/2007 18:03:56 ANS1999E Incremental processing of '\\kdedatan1\c$' stopped.

01/22/2007 18:03:56 ANS1329S Server out of data storage space

01/22/2007 18:03:56 ANS1512E Scheduled event 'DAILY6PM' failed. Return code = 12.

error 2: node KDEODSSQ01 (WinNT) - no space available in storage pool DISK-1 and all successor pools. (SESSION: 3258)
2007-01-23 02:00 ANR2579E Schedule 2AM in domain KDEPROD_2WEEKS for node KDEODSSQ01 failed (return code 12). (SESSION: 3256)

That error means that your diskpool is full. If you have a tapepool set up as your "Next stgpool" for the disk pool then it will try to put the backup there...(usually set to the stgpool to which the data gets migrated).

So then, if the data can't be put there - maybe if all the tape drives are in use - then you will get that error.

Perhaps by the time you look at it in the morning, migration has run and the diskpool has more space...

Generally what I do is- backup to disk at night, then to migrate I lower the diskpool high migration point to 5 and low to 0 at say 8am. Then, at say 5pm, I set it back to what I had it at before (in my case High=90 low=70), using an admin command schedule. What that does is completely drains the diskpool to tape so that I have a nice clean diskpool for the nights run.

Is this possible in your situation?
