I installed Small Business Server 2003 on a new server.

I Migrated data & profiles & email from the old server (SBS4.5)

Was able to log on to client computers, access email and data.

Overnight started getting messages in the event log about elections being forced by one of the standard XP pro client computers.

No one could sign on the next morning or could only sign on very slowly (3 - 5 mins)

The server no longer appears in the network neighbourhood, but all client computers do appear.

DHCP is up and running and has leases assigned

Im not sure where to look next, any sugestions?

First check to make sure the server is configured to use NetBIOS over TCP/IP. That is typically why a machine does not show up in net Neighborhood.

Next check your DNS settings.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Regards,

Mark
