Server Hang - NW6SP4

Server hangs when Arcserve 7 is loaded.. Happened after updating from SP1 to SP4. Connections drop, console locks, won't go down.

Server hangs so tight that even the four finger salute will not take it down.

Has anyone else had this problem?

didnt want to read this thread - never seen it

i've only updated 6 servers so far to sp4 - they were sp3

only 2 are running arcserve 7 but no probs so far but it's only been 3 days

I think I found the answer, although it's more of a workaround than a solution. The problem was that "CDBE GREMLIN" was hogging the CPU. No TIDS but I found a few references on the Novell Forums. I don't understand why, but when you load DOSFAT.NSS, it avoids the problem. Something about accessing the Dos partition in real mode.. Anyway, the server has been running now for about 18 hours without any problem after I added that to my startups. Before, it would crap after any command was entered on the console, or when any of the MEDIA TAB was accessed on the server in Console One.

Another thing, it doesn't seem to be related to SP4. I saw reference to the problem on SP3 also.
