Server Edition upgrade from 9.0.6 to 9.0.8 resets passwords/new SID

I did an upgrade on the primary server from 9.0.6 to 9.0.8 and all the passwords reset to defaults, and the System ID for licensing changed. I am now under a grace period of 30 days. Anyone have any idea why this would happen? This can't be the expected result after a maintenance upgrade right?
 
Virtual, on an AVAYA delivered server, on a customer delivered server?

How did you do the upgrade? From ISO or web Interface?
 
It was a customer delivered server that we configured. It's a virtual environment. We've done upgrades before, going from 9.0.3 to 9.0.4 and then 9.0.4 to 9.0.6. Every time it was using the web portal and uploading the ISO as per documentation. Haven't experienced anything like this before. The secondary virtual server upgraded fine though, it's on a separate but identical server. And all IP500v2's upgraded fine as well. Just the Primary.
 
That should not happen. You can revert to a backup of that machine before upgrading or swap licenses to the new SID.
 
Oh I know full well that it shouldn't happen lol. I will order the new licenses for sure. Would you know how this could happen? Could it be an issue with the Virtual Machine?
 
Did you change any IP address or time settings or host Name?
 
Nope. Literally uploaded the ISO, checked the Primary server and selected Upgrade, accepted the giant wall of text and watched it do it's thing. Then when I couldn't log into anything did I realize that the passwords were all reset, and I couldn't upgrade the other systems until I changed the passwords back to what they were. Very strange.
