Because these standard SE license surely do not include any hardware:

339100 IPO R9.1 SE ADI LIC Server Edition license
339216 IPO R9.1 SE PLDS LIC Server Edition license

does anyone know what the following ones what are provided for?

339104 IPO R9.1 SFTW ONLY SE ADI LIC Software only Server Edition license
339220 IPO R9.1 SFTW ONLY SE PLDS LIC Software only Server Edition license

Avaya Docs or kb do not report this info
thank you

The first 2 are if you're running SE on servers bought from Avaya.
The last 2 are if you're running SE on VMWare.

ADI is "regular" SE and PLDS is for SE Select.

I have different Item Numbers on mine but that might be because I'm in EMEA.

Sounds like a new name for the virtual server edition license.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I am in EMEA too but unfortunately those are not the virtual ones, because the right VIRTUAL licenses are the following (depending on ADI or PLDS platform licensing)

339101 IPO R9.1 VRTULZD SE ADI LIC
339217 IPO R9.1 VRTULZD SE PLDS LIC

I can't understand what do they mean for "Software Only

Software Only is usually used in Aura when you install it on your own server.

I had a brainfart.
Could it be that these are needed for SE installed on a server that is not delivered by Avaya?

Seems like it's under CI

ATAC Maintenance Services - Coverage options on IP Office Server Edition on customer-provided server

Although this product offering is only available under controlled introduction, IPOSS coverage may be purchased as follows:

Coverage is only available via the IPOSS base offer: Remote Technical Support Including Upgrades. Parts coverage options are not available for a customer-provided server.
Avaya would only support Avaya IP Office software, and would not cover other software or hardware support.
Manual quoting is required, using the material code for the Linux DL360G server (unavailable in quote tools).
The server must be registered. Please manually add the Server Edition material code in the registration file.
Enhanced connectivity via SSL/VPN is available for customer-provided servers as part of the product registration Automated On-boarding process.

This will be great, just imagine the number of IPOs that gonna run on $250 SFFs and old laptops =)

Janni78, that would nto be a problem when these are small installs.
i am asking Avaya fomr day one that there should be a SE for smaller systems.
It is software so take advantage of it and make the price a lot better so that small(er) system will be a SE too.
Even customers with 10 phones run VMWare with virtual machines on it.
All these are potential customers.
But 3500 euro for one SE is way too much for these small sites.

I think it will come to that.

Today you pay for the IPO system, compared to Aura where you pay for the users & functions.
They already been talking about user based licensing for rental so they might as well change the on-premises licensing as well and make the VMWare requirements depend on the number of users and features you're going to use. Seen this on a couple of Aura products where your requirements are smaller if you don't wanna max out the system.

I would think a per user is easier.
But then probably the price will go up too :)
I think there should be two options.
1 IP500v2 like it is
2 Server edition with a per user licensing

In case of option two the SE license should be gone of much cheaper.

Thank you all, the final statement by the Avaya CAM (after a stressful pressing we provided)is that those "software only" licenses are just for "Controlled release", it means "only if authorized by Avaya".

!!!!!!!

I got the same from Avaya. Controlled release. A disty in the US is running it on Lenovo "Tiny" Servers.
