I'll start by posting here before I post in the Terminal Services forum.

We have a Win2003 server that acts as a Terminal Services server. About once a week, one of the users locks server and nobody can unlock it. Not even me as the Administrator. The only thing we can do is reset the server via the power button (not safe!).

My question is two-fold. 1) How can I prevent the users from locking the server, and 2) how can I (the administrator) get back in if they do lock it?

Try this Group Policy setting.

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Ctrl+Alt+Del Options

Find the 'Remove Lock Computer' setting and enable it.

This setting removed the Lock Computer from the Ctrl+Alt+Del menu and also will not let me lock the computer using the Windows Key + L shortcut combination.

Check this KB article and see if it pertains to you.

I'll give it a shot and see what happens. The screen saver was simply "blank." I set the screen saver to "none," too.
