Server 2K3 File/Folder Permissions latency

I'm currently in the transition phase of migrating from an NT 4.0 Domain to Win2K3 Domain. I'm manually doing the migration primarily to take the opprtunity to tidy up ACLs etc. Right now I've a W2K3 server sitting in an NT4.0 Domain (has been for the last 3 months). It's a member server that acts as site file/print. In the last number of days when attempting to apply permissions to Folders/files it takes ages to bring up the user/group list. If I drill down through active directory on this server it's pretty much instantaneous (Admin Tool Pak installed to connect to DC in 2K3 Domain - Full 2 way trust set-up). This was working fine until recently. I'm basically adding security permissions to data shares from users/groups from both Domains. Any help would be much appreciated.

Folks - I'm still stuck with this problem - any help would be appreciated. It's taking ages for the users & groups list to pop up when applying security permisiions to files/folders.
