Hi,
I'm just setting up a new server and am having some problems with the initial setup. Our new network is not physically ready yet(switches, network points, cabling) so I am trying to configure the server in advance (it is not connected to anything so is effectively stand-alone) but because it is not on any network I cannot seem to get Active Directory (Domain Controller), DNS etc. etc. configured. I have allocated IP addresses to the two NIC's/unattached LANs but whenever I run through the various Wizards I keep coming up against the same error message - "The TCP/IP network protocol must be properly configured".
I am obviously doing something fundamentally stupid (and it's driving me mad!) but am not sure what it is! Can anyone give me a few tips & pointers so that I can get the server up and running in readiness for my network?!
Many thanks.
