The company I'm working with has recently reconfigured their IIS 5 server to use a samba share rather than a local system folder and ever since the change was made, static content on the website takes up to 10 minutes to update after saving it on the samba share.
For example, I edit an html page and save it and I don't see any changes until 10 minutes later despite flushing my cache files and restarting my browser. We've seen this issue across multiple computers here.
The strange thing is that when I save coldfusion files, or other script files, the changes are seen immediately which makes me believe there's something wrong with how IIS 5 deals with static content. It almost seems as if the server has a cache on it for static content that has suddenly taken effect.
Is there some way to stop this strange "cache-like" behavior? It's driving coworkers crazy and causing us lots of lost time in production. If I can find a solution quickly, I'd be very greatful. This is very urgent. Thank you for any help!
