Serialized items in PO 5.5

Hi,

I'm currently preparing for the upgrade from Accpac 5.4 to 5.5. I'm testing on 5.5. PO, SI and PJC all have SP1 installed.

In 5.4 I could receipt job related PO's for serialized items. If I wanted to have the serial number in the job as well I had to do this manually in SI.

Now in 5.5 it appears I can't even receipt job related PO's for serialized inventory. Instead I receive the following error message:
Serialized item xxxxxx is not allowed in job related transactions.

Am I doing something wrong here or is it just getting harder with every version they release?
How do I order serialized items now?

So I have to order serialized items in IC first and then use Material Usage to ship it to a job.
Is this how it works now?

What's the improvement?

You're one of the very few who use this feature. It doesn't change in PU2, so there must be some developer or other user who thought this is how it should work. You'll have to request a change from Sage, or do some custom development.

Yes, in 5.5 Sage went from SPs to PUs.
