can anyone help me how i can find through configuration the serial number of my cisco router 1841?

is there a "sh" command for this situation?
 
show version will provide you this.

Its also written on the router, but I assume you are not within touching distacne...

IIRC, you can also use "show hardware" or "show inventory" to get additional information.

The processor board ID is *not* the chassis serial number.
 
Actually, I should say that the processor board ID is usually not the serial number, but there are a handful of situations where this is the serial number. The "show inventory" command is a better option on newer platforms.

Unfortunately, that command doesn't exist on older platforms, so you'll just have to read the serial number off of the chassis manually for those devices.

i just shipped out 80 1841s to remote locations and in every instance that processor board ID was the serial number.

so since this question was 1841 specific i felt pretty safe saying that they will be the same numbers.
 
Yeah, you're right. On the newer platforms, the processor ID does match up with the chassis. That isn't true for older devices, though.
