serch companion doesn´t work

hi,

i have 2 windows 2003 server with the same error message.
if i try to search for files or folders i get the message "A file required for the search companion is missing..."

There is a KB-Article for this problem concerning windows xp but not 2003.

the hotfix for xp can´t be installed on 2003 and the workaround mentioned in this article did not solve my problem.

has anybody already solved this issue?
