I am trying to number tables in a WORD document and am unsure which field code to use. I have already used the AUTONUMLGL to number my Figures so using this field code only adds the next number to the table...

ListNum works but I get either a "." or a ")" after the number neither of which I can have. The switch \e takes care of the "." but then a ")" shows up. Trying the SEQ field code gives me several errors:

Field Code: SEQ Table#\* Arabic\# "0"\n \* MERGEFORMAT
gives me..
Error! Picture switch must be first formatting switch.

Thank you in advance. I so appreciate the assistance this web site provides.

once u insert ListNum, go to Format, Bullets and...

a particular format will be higlighted. click on customize and format it the way you like.
