a site has a single nt4 server on site (app still not approved for any other os hence no 2000 , 2003 etc)
it host a dns server just really as caching server.
the zone is of the type child.domain.com and this in turns forwards to a central dns server which has the zone domain.com and then this forwards to isp's dns.
i need to access a site that is a link from a program that has a hard coded fqdn in it - say webserver.bob.com
if i create bob.com on the server that hosts domain.com then from pc's that have that suffix then i am ok i can ping webserver.bob.com but i cannot from a pc that is at the child site.
any idea why not - i assume it recursion or iterative setting somewhere
i could put a zone at the child site but there are multiple of these and would prefer if i can set at centre
