Separating Directory Names on phone?

We need to separate directory names on our phones for different business units. Is this possible? I haven't been able to figure out...

Basically when they push the directory button on the phone, Business Unit Alpha only wants to see people that work for Alpha. Business Unit Beta only wants to see people that work for Beta and so on. A suggestion was to use the 'contacts' feature on the 96xx phones, but there are limitations. BU Alpha has 400 people, BU Beta has 300+...

We're running CM5.2 with ESS & LSP servers and 96xx H.323 phones around the globe.

Thanks,

You should use the 4620 LDAP Directory application.

Setup correctly, (with your LDAP directory) it would show only the group or person your user wanted.

You can search by name, or other common LDAP tags.

If you want to continue to use the directory button (which I personally hate) you'd need to segment the business units into tenants.

So I'm running tenants already with all my ESS/LSP sites - but that doesn't isolate each sites directory. They can still see anyone who is in the directory. Is there a setting somewhere that will isolate them?

Not sure about LDAP... Just another variable that could fail.

On the tenant form page 2 you'd block one tenant from being able to call the other tenant.

Of course, that only means they can't call extension to extension. They can still call using the PSTN.

The LDAP directory feature has turned out to be quite excellent. I'd suggest a look.

I'll take a look at LDAP - we're running it on our softphones... Tenant COR restricts calling, but I don't think it restricts the directory functionality.
