The ??? command sends output directly to the printer. However i came across an error and again came here for a possible solution.

We are using epson and epson compatible thermal receipt printers with our software. We have these printers set up using windows drivers and are called in many places throughout our software. However when the ??? command is executed for the first time the printer will feed 1 and 1/2 inches of paper and then cut the paper. Before printing the receipt. This is a huge waster of paper when ringing through 1000 receipts a day and it is highly annoying! Anybody encounter this before

I use the Epson TM200 and the Samsung SRP-270A (40 Column) pritner in my POS system.
What I did is I installed a "Generic / Text Only" driver and in my system, I check if it is installed by the name of the printer.

When I print, I set the printer to the "Generic / Text Only" and it works fine..

As far as the extra spaces... I had this problem, and when I used the generic driver, it worked fine.

I also tried it on Star Thermal printer...

Peace! Please let me know if this helped you :)
