Sending mail trough my Windows 2000 server

Help!

I have just installed a Windows 2000 server in a corporate network. The server is installed between the WAN and the LAN, with functionality like ISA Server (proxy/firewall), but users on the internal network is unable to send and recieve mail from servers on the external network (internet). All i get is te "0x800CCC0F" error message in outlook. Anyone have any pointers?
