I'm having a problem with ezxchange at one of my customers sites, some mail outbound is failing to send properly, i have been shown a number of NDR's being recieved by the clients users all of which show similar to the following
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'julie.cross@s*******4.com' on 25/03/2006 13:28
Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please retry or contact your administrator.
<mail.**********.com #4.4.7>
Also in the queues i have some messages stuck on retry with the additional queue info saying either
the semaphore timeout period has expired
or
the remote server did not respond to a connection attempt.
no i know that a couple of these in the queue are probably dogus addresses but the clients users are having some business related ones NDR too.
Please advise?
Other info:
Windows 2003 SP1 Server DC with exchange 2003 SP2 installed + wins DNs etc.
email scanning using symantec mail security for exchange 4.6
firewall doing nat watchguard firebox 500 not using SMTP proxy feature.
