Hi

My company is using Exchange 5.5, GFI mail essentials for Anti Virus and content checking and most of the clients are Outlook.

The problem I am having is that one user has a distribution list with over 100 people on it, when it is sent the first person on the list gets all the copies and non of the other recipients it.

I have tried building my own distribution list with about 8 people (internal and external) and all were received correctly. I checked the users distribution list and it seems to contain valid email addresses.

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I think the distribution list is corrupt, delete and re-create this...

Whoops sorry forgot to mention. The user also copied the semi colon separated list into the TO box, this contained all the same email addresses, with the same result.

I have been doing a few tests tonight:

1. If distribution list is sent at work, however many emails were due to go out are sent to the first person on the distribution list ie about 170.

2. I tested this with a smaller list and it worked, I also made my own and it worked.

Trials I have done tonight:

3. I sent an email to five people, and they all got it. I then added the same five again (making 10 addressees) and and yet again I got five emails to the first person on the list (as the duplicates would cancel out).

4. I check the list at work and there seems to be at least two duplicates, so I will try this out tomorrow.

This is very strange, is this problem with my mail server or an outlook 2000 quirk?

Any advice would be welcome
