Sending email if program fails

Hi,

I need some help figuring out a problem. I have an XP Pro machine with Outlook 2003 installed. It runs some video security camera software, and occasionally the program crashes.

Is there some way to send a notification via email that the program has failed? Or any programs that can do that?

TIA.
