Send to from query as .XLS

I have an established db that runs a macro procedure to send a query as an .xls via email.

This process works on newly created db's and used to work with this particular db.

In the db in question, if I change the output type to HTML or text or RTF, all is fine,...only .xls results in an unreadable file.

P.S. I get the same results regardless if the process is done manualy or if it is run from a macro.

...any ideas?

You may choose between different Excel version:
acSpreadsheetTypeExcelX with X=3,4,5,7,8 or 9
