Hi!

I'd like to start a search engine by emulating sending the start command:

I'm trying to use curl/wget, and autologin using 'username= and password= but I'm having problems with the nexturl parameter. For this to work I need to pass nexturl twice. This breaks curl/wget.

Any idea how to fix this, or use an alternative way to start the search from the command line?

This is a 'solution' for restarting a failing search engine. I don't know if it's down or not, so I just want to start it every 5 minutes to make sure.

Ideally you should be working out what is causing your Search Engine to stop rather than restart it as this can cause significantly more issues within your system and index. Can you post more info on the errors you are getting ? have you spoken to OT Support about this ?

Also you should be able to define some Control Rules to restart the jobs for you within Livelink rather than creating an external script.

Greg,

We have a problem with a custom patch to be able to search a single attribue accross catagories (like Livelink 8.x).
We have serveral catagories with the 'country' attribute, and used to be able to search for country automatically across catagories. This patch changes a query so it searches in all catagories with the 'country' atttribute.

Somehow this sometimes breaks the search engine.

Afaik you cannot control the search engine with control rules, only the indexing process?

For now, I have a working external script using wget.

Just for laughs and giggles, what is the query being generated to the search engine and what version?
