Hi,

I would like to send e-mail via an SMTP server, but it requires SMTP authentication to send it.

Is it possible to send email by mailx or other mail client using SMTP authentication to the SMTP server?

Thanks,
Alex

It may be worth asking this question in the sendmail forum. There are some "auth" related options in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf and /etc/mail/main.cf, but I'm not sure whether any of them apply to the remote SMTP server.
