How do I send the command "^G" to a device conencted via serial port (RS-232) number 3?

Did you try to use the "COM3:" device ?

no, because I don't know how too!
 
I'm not sure if it's compatible with MS Access forms, but you could try looking into the MSComm control. This will allow you to interact with COM ports.
