I would like to get some information on how semaphores work and how could i use them? Does anyone have a link that I can visit?

Sorry, I don't have a link, but the best treatment, I've seen is Unix Network Programming by W. Richard Stevens, Prentice Hall, ISBN 0-13-949876-1.
