What is a semaphore timeout period? How do you fix this?

These errors may have occurred because the storage device driver did not receive a response from the storage device or the controller within a specific amount of time. Basically check all of your hardware, and make sure you have recent drivers. Make sure you use the lowest scsi ID possible but you may want to avoid 0 or 1 as these can be reserved for boot devices on some systems. Never put scsi tape on an internal scsi bus as may be presented from some IBM/HP servers - always use additional SCSI cards. It also might be due to robots having trouble moving and loading tapes. If at all possible get Engineers to perform low level diags and get firmware upgraded where appropriate. If all else fails try checking cables and replacing!

I was assuming this was a tape driver issue and not dhcp - which has a similar message - in which case start network troubleshooting!
