Ooops ! I've just deleted a small amount of data that I shouldn't have.

How can I either:

Get the values I've just deleted out of the transaction log so that I can manually put the data back (it's only about 16 rows)

or

Automatically restore the data I've just deleted (I know the key of the data I've zapped)

Any thoughts or guidance would be much appreciated.

Hi Chris,

There is a product called LogExplorer by Lumigent at

Which says it can do selected log restores and search through the log files. I HAVE NOT USED IT so I don't know
if it works. Even if it just views the logs you will hopefully be able it get the data out and insert it back in
by hand.

Hope this is of some use

Log Explorer works as advertised. Using it you can backout single statements or transactions.

There is no built-in SQL Server selective recovery like you describe. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA

Thanks guys.

It did the trick fairly painlessly.

For anyone else interested - they allow you to download a 30 day trial version.
