Im using crystal 8.5 and in my report i have a bunch of samples listed. With each sample is their recieved date, and im trying to have the report only show samples recieved on a certain date. For some reason when i go to selecting expert and i choose a date under the recieved dates "one that i know is there because i can see it in the big report". The report shows nothing, so i delete my selection from expert, refresh and the whole report comes back. From what i have experienced in the past, by selecting a certain date, the samples that have that corresponding date should show up, but for some reason or another they are not. Is there some thing i should check of change, do they need to be in groups, im not sure. Any help would be much apprecieted.

Try posting technical information:

Database/connectivity used
Example data(show field names and examples of the data)
Expected output (what you expect to show on the report)

Chatting may prove therapeutic, however you're not conveying anything meaninful except that it isn't working how you expect and that you're frustrated.

What did you put into the select expert? Post what's in the Report->Edit Selection Fromula->Record and what's in the Database->Show SQL Query

Try creating a parameter, and in the Report->Edit Seelction Formula->Record place:

(
{table.date} >= {?MyDateParm}
)

Now run the report and enter the date when prompted and see what is returned.

My initial guess would be to make sure that what you are selecting on is what is actually showing up in the report. For instance, in some of our tables, certain fields seem like they hold certain data, but instead are blank. However, other fields in the table hold the data we are looking for as well. THis scenario is especially prevalent in tables where data was copied over from a different module, such as AR invoice tables, where there is a "TransactionDate" field, but also a "SOTransDate" field.

just a thought.
