Hi all, my macro I am writing refreshes a data query.
The results of the query will vary in number - and yet I need to insert a column, and perform LEFT(A2, 6)
on every row that is returned.

can anyone suggest how I can accomplish this.
recording a macro wont tell me how I automatically fill the formula down to the very last row containing data..

Have a look at the FAQ area in this forum: at least two ways to retrieve the last row used in a range.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Hi,

In Data/Get External Data/Data Range Properties -- there's a check box for ...

Fill down formulas in columns adjacent to data

No need for code!
