I am accustomed to, in MS Access, saying:
Code:
 select top 30 from mytable;

Is there a way to do this in SQL Server 6.5? I keep getting "error message near 30".

Thanking you in advance. Mike K

Top was implemented in SQL Server V7, I believe.

TOP is a new keyword in SQL Server 7.

It is not compatible with SQL Server 6 or 6.5 Kim

Great. Thanks for the definitive info. Mike K
