The easiest way is to set up a rule - depending on which version of Outlook you're running you can get the email to either be moved to your Deleted Items folder (pre-2000) or be deleted permanently (later versions). Please let me know if you need any help on how to set up the rule.
Have over 1200 customers don't really want to set the rule up in the client, looking for exchange to be able to delete the mail sent via the distribution list itself
Problem being that I want everyone to have access to the DL, but I want any messages sent via the DL to delete after a set time period - say 10 days. There is a facility similar for mailboxes but I can't find a solution for a DL
I have spoke to Microsoft Gold partner who tell me that they don't think its possible
Aaah, gotcha - I was getting the wrong end of the stick! I can't think of a way to do what you're after - I'm afraid Microsoft might be right on this one...
If I get any sudden flashes of inspiration I'll let you know
Hmm, if you have Exchange 5.5 SP4 you may want to check out Mailbox Manager - not sure if that will do what you want but it's worth checking out. I can't find my CD so can't look for you I'm afraid - and I can't really remember what it's capable of ;-)
