All,
I've got a domain name (mydomain.com) that is registered with godaddy.com. Their registration entry requires that I list the authoritative nameservers by their FQDN, and more to the point, by a mydomain.com-suffixed FQDN. Thus, my NS records now show NS1.mydomain.com and NS2.mydomain.com. Everything works of course, but my understanding is that the NS record tells the DNS query where to find the records for mydomain.com, so it seems like it's telling the query to find mydomain.com's records at ns2.mydomain.com - but then it still doesn't know mydomain.com! I'm missing something, could someone explain where the missing resolution is?
