Hi all, I am using a PPTP VPN from XP Pro to a Watchguard 500 series Firebox. I have 5 users so far on trial and connection reliability is worryingly random: From home, I can connect reliably with dialup but only occasionally with Broadband (1m/bit) The error is non response after the client system sends the user name and password. One of my other client systems has the same problem, however another works fine most of the time on broadband (so far one 'down' period of a few hours when connection wasn't possible). Watching the firewall in real time, it seems to deny access with a GRU error code when we get these time outs. The host network and Watchguard VPN are on a 1m/bit satellite broadband connection, I know you're all screaming latentcy! now, but as a final puzzle I have my final user with an identical Satellite system and he connects every time!!! All the client brodband connections go through a Netgear WiFi access point/router/firewall (one of the home/small office silver saucer jobbies) and it's driving me up the wall!!! Any help appreciated.
