Is it possible in XP Pro, when not on a domain, to set the security as in W2K or NT. As far as I can see you can only open a folder to everyone (By dragging it to the Shared Document Folder) or make it Private.

You can't open a folder fe. Read for one user, R/W for another and full for yet another. This seems only to work in XP Pro on a domain.

Is this true or am I overlooking something?

In Standalone mode Windows hides these NTFS and Sharing permissions thinking the user doesnt need them in a standalone situation. They can be reactivated through settings in Control Panel. To be able to view the NTFS and Sharing permissions, go to Control Panel, then Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Then down the bottom there is an option to disable the simple view for NTFS permissions. There are other features they can be disabled such as the Welcome Screen logon, which can be put back to the standard logon, like in a Win2k. If you need to know how to renable any feature just ask.
