Make sure you're using the new system.mdw you created with the wizard when you open this database, and not the default system.mdw. Newposter

Check out the Access secuirty FAQ. It's a tough read, but if you follow what it says to do you'll wind up with a secured database. It looks like you missed a step somewhere (which is quite common). Also, I would suggest not joining anything other than the default mdw, and just using short cuts or batch files to open your secured databases. I have the FAQ on my website (or you can get it from ms, of course) and also a couple of articles on using batch files to open databases.
Please post in the appropriate forum with a descriptive subject; code and SQL, if referenced; and expected results. See thread181-473997 for more pointers.
I checked to make sure that I have joined the correct file as Workgroup Administrator. I can see all my groups and users with their premissions and everything looks just fine. However when I open the database the switchboard comes up without asking for any login or password. Very strange...
I finally found the problem. I had never setup a password for the Admin user. It was blank and that is the default login. Once I put a password in then Access started requiring that you login. Thanks for all the help.
