Hello,

I have set up a lab in my basement with a PDC and a member server. I have setup a couple of local users on the member server and a applied a local security policy on the server called "Message text when user logs on" I entered the message in the dialog box and applied.

When I log off the server and log on as the user created on local machine, policy does not go into affect.

I have used the "secedit.exe" with some switches and still nothing...

Am I missing something here? Are there any other steps that I need to take so this would work?

Can someone help me?

Thank you Much in advance:)

George

If this is a domain controller, have you tried to set this up on the Default Domain Controller Policy?

When you logon to the member server do you logon locally?
If logging on to the domain it will run domain policies.
If you want tyhe message text to appear for domain users the policy has to be set on the domain.
