Security Patch Question

Hello, I was just wondering what some of the administrators our there do if they install a patch and something goes wrong, and need to uninstall it.
Many of the Critical Updates say "Patch can be uninstalled: Yes". Is it really possible to uninstall the patch, or do they just mean that you can backup the system files and reload them if something goes wrong?

If the patch is uninstallable, it should show up in the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
