Hi,

I have a small NT4 network with about 15 servers. I would like to have some kind of security monitoring tool to allow me to check on the basic stuff. The native NT event log is too simple and not very good to use. Is there free or cheap software I can buy?

Any suggestion would be appreciated!

What's the 'basic stuff' in your mind? Are you worried about hacking in from the outside? Users trying to get into the wrong directories? Are you looking for server auditing or network auditing? Most free or cheap software helps out with either one or the other.

For network stuff I use SNORT and ACID.
For server-side stuff, I mainly use native auditing.

You might also re-post a more specific question in the General Security Discussion forum.
