just recently upgraded school computers to 2000, and the lock out feature pops up after a minute of non-use. there is no password as it is a student computer, but the user has to press enter every time it pops up and it's very annoying. i checked the administrative tools settings and it says not defined, just like other computers that aren't having that problem. how can i turn this off completely? it doesn't happen on the other computers, but i believe it may have something to do with leftover 98 settings...

any help is appreciated.

Does this cmoputer have the Screen Saver option turned on with password?

the screen saver was set to none...but when i selected a screensaver i saw that the password was enabled. turned it off and haven't had any problems since. you know i spent three days digging through the security options? ug...how embarrassing. thanks for the info...it probably saved me another day or so of digging.
