Hi,

I've 3 zones en my primary DNS. I've a secondary DNS which with 2 zones, it work well, but one zone fails: fail the data transfer. I get the following message in fail zone on secondary DNS: "The dns server encountered a problem while attempting to load the zone. The transfer of the zone data from the master server failed"
I've checked in zones propierty's of my primary DNS is activate to allow do the copy of the zone.
The difference of this zone and the two others is it uses WINS to resolve names not found by querying the DNS namespace.

How can I transfer the zone to my secondary DNS?

Thanks.

Try deleting and recreating the zone on the secondary server, make sure the spell is correct and there are no typo's at all.

Ensure all IP's are correct to and its not trying to pull the update from the wrong server. Also check the IP's under allow zone transfers to are correct.

If it sets to allows transfers to names in the name server tabs check they are correct to any there is no wrong spelling or IP's address to.

Another way to test is allow zone transfers to any server without restriction just to test it works then work back from there.
