G'day all,
I've recently created a secondary DNS to do my forwarding etc as I was unable to get them to work on the primary DNS.
Setup:
single domain, with a primary DNS and a backup primary.
secondary DNS set to forward to external DNS for internet names and cache the replies.
The original secondary server (a pc with 2ks), while still functional on the network, is not getting any requests as all clients are now pointed to the new DNS.
The problem:
I go to DNS - right click on the server name, go to monitoring and ask it to test. Both tests fail stating failed on name resolution.
strange thing is, it resolves names just fine and we are all able to surf the net without any hickups.
Thanks in advance for any help or clues given on this goose chase.
Pete.
