Hi there

I've configured Exchange 2003 to use a second MX domain name (second.com) using recipient policies. I've created a new user account (joe@second.com)and assigned rights so joe@first.com can access it.
However, when the user, from his joe@first.com account goes Open Other Folder to open joe@second.com and sends an email, the recipient still sees the email as coming from joe@second.com

How can I let a user from first.com accesss another account in second.com, and send, so the recipient sees the return address as second.com? Help!

Hi sifiguy

It depends on the version of Outlook, but usually Outlook will send from the default profile. i.e If your default profile is user@firstdomain and you have user@seconddomain open as a folder, even though the second folder is selected, the sent emails will always show as user@firstdomain.
You will need to allow the user to view the "From" field in emails and he will have to select who he is sending from each time.
Outlook2003 is relatively clever with this. If you are replying to a mail in the second mailbox, it will do the above automatically.

Thanks mayh3m, that's cleared up a lot for me. We've recently moved from GroupWise, so still getting up to speed with Exchange...

Can I hide the second.com addresses from everyone except a couple of users?

Cheers

Just to add - It is the primary email address is ADUC that is sent in the From field by default. So if you are changing your users from user@first.com to user@Second.com just make user@Second.com the primary address in ADUC. All emails the user sends will be coming from user@Second.com.

Hope this helps...
