Hi All,

OK, I have 2 spreadsheets, both formatted the same way. There are multiple sheets with just 2 coloumns per sheet. The left hand coloumn is sorted data but I want to be able to search the right hand coloumn and return the data in the left hand coloumn.

My questions are:

How do I do this without sorting the data?
How can I search multiple sheets?
How can I search both spreadsheets from one place?

To be honest, I'm not even sure if it's possible but I'd like to try!

Thanks All,

Danny.

PS - It doesn't matter if the sheets are reformatted, provided they aren't saved.

Hi,

No prob, RexNoctis.
Code:
=INDEX(Col1RangeOnWhateverSheet,MATCH(YourSearchValue,Col2RangeOnWhateverSheet,0),1)
I am using Named Ranges, a much better approch than "A1" notation.

Hope this helps :)
