Searching a web site

I have a question. I am fairly new to CF and I am developing my first Intranet site using CF. What I am trying to do is set up search feature so that users can search for specific topics. As I was reading through my CF books, I noticed that CFSEARCH, CFINDEX, and CFCOLLECTION are used for this, but there are not any real good examples. Can anyone give me a brief explanation on how I can use these to create a search feature for my site or any other helpful advice would also be greatly appreciated.
