I know this will drive some people crazy but I like the old search method. I find the Windows 7 search and the indexed searches less effective based on the way I search. Is there a way to regain the old search method/tools?

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
Another vote for SearchMyFiles. It just works, whatever you want to look for. It is very light on resources, works super fast, and doesn't require indexing. It also easily searches networked drives, where many of the others fall short.
I posted a thread about it, in short, over in the Windows XP forum as well, some time back.

If you want yet another alternative to look at, you can look at Everything Search Engine. I was using that one before I found SearchMyFiles, and I didn't think anything could be better than Everything, but SearchMyFiles fit the bill! ;p
