search W2K event log for specific events

Hi,
Does anyone have a vbscript or a tip on how to search the W2K event log for a specific event, for 1 day. I have a script that will find a specific event, but I'm not sure how to limit to 1 day. I would like to run a script daily and check for a specific event for the previous day up to the current day/time.
