search returns no results, I'm confused.............

I have a share on server1 called data.

If I search from a workstation for *.doc on \\server1\data I get no results.

I have a second server called server2 with a DFS of data pointing to \\server1\data

Now if I search \\server2\data, I get results even though it is the same place.....

Am I missing something here? I still should be able to search \\server1\data shouldn't I?
