how do i search for a field containing a semicolan in a field.
i tried
select * from customers where c_fname like '%;%'
and it returned no results. I know there are results!

what are you using?

normal queries use '*' as a wildcard character, only ado uses '%' as wildcards...

try using: like '*;*' instead...

Was looking for the exact same thing. Crowley16, you are a genius, a saint & my hero!

I was trying LIKE "*;*" and was (naturally) pulling all records. Your instruction to use the apostrophe in lieu of the quote marks was the saving grace I needed.

Thank you!!!

only ado uses '%' as wildcards
In fact, only Jet use * as wildcard for the Like operator

Hope This Helps, PH.
